CELEBRATIONS
Navratari
Celebration
Navaratri festival was celebrated with as much enthusiasm
as any other festival this year in our school campus. Following
the tradition to dance with Garba and Dandiya before the
goddess during Navaratri,tiny tots danced to the true tune
of original garba.

Children's
Day Celebration
After the Diwali vacation , the school
reopened on 14th November '08, Children's Day . The students
had nice surprises waiting for them to celebrate their day.
KG. Section and students of Std. I &
II were treated to a Puppet show. Students of Playgroup
to Std. IV also performed different creative activities
in class and throughly enjoyed the experience.
Students of Std. V to VII had a entertainment
programme anchored by teachers, in which students got the
opportunity to display their individual talent like singing,
dancing and playing musical instruments.
All in all, it was a day which the children
and teachers will remember fondly.

A
Talk on “Health Tips” was organised for students
of Std. III on 03.10.08 by Ms. Prachi Telang .The children
became aware of nutrients of food, sources and importance
of a balanced diet in our life. The children learnt to say
“no” to junk food.They enthusiastically participated
in the Quiz conducted at the end. |

A Talk on “Dental Care” was
organised for students of Std. III on 04.10.08 by Ms. Vidhi
Nilakh. She talked to the students about different parts
of teeth, their importance and how to maintain oral hygiene.
She also explained the various diseases that occur if oral
hygiene is not taken care. A small film on dental care was
shown to the children.

Students participated in “Mission
Green Earth” project named ‘Stand up and Take
Action’
Members of the ‘Mission Green
Earth’ in collaboration with the Bright Day School
participated in “Mission Green Earth” project
named ‘Stand up and Take Action’, which was
meant to ensure environmental sustainability. The mission
of the project was a commitment to plant 100 million trees
and 100 million people taking the oath for environmental
sustainability. Around 1600 Students of school were provided
saplings and staff as well as students took the oath for
environmental protection.

CBSE Cluster- IX Athletic Meet 2008-09
Students of class VIII and IX will participate
in CBSE cluster- IX Athletic Meet 2008-09 going to be held
at Surat from 3.11.2008 to 5.11.2008. They will be accompanied
by their Coach, Ms. Chitra Gawli.
NCC camp for Army wing Ist year Cadets
Students of class VIII had attended NCC camp for Army wing
Ist year Cadets held at Vadodara from 15.10.2008 from 24.10.2008.

Mahesh Raval working as Karate teacher with CBSE Karelibaug
unit, was awarded appreciation certificate by Ministry of
Youth Affairs & Sports, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan,
Govt. of India for his coaching in Self Defense field (Karate)
in Gujarat.
He was felicitated with memento, a certificate and a cash
prize of Rs. 5000.

Rhyme
Day
Rhyme Day for tiny tots of Playgroup was organized on 6th
October ’08. Children had shown great enthusiasm and
confidence while performing on stage.
The main objective of the activity was that they overcome
their stage fear. They enjoyed their 1st step on stage &
it really helped them in gaining confidence.

NATIONAL LEVEL:
The Science Research project prepared by Mauni D. Upadhyay
and Zehra J. Radiatorwala of IX A, is selected for national
level by Innovative and Initiative Research in Science
( IRIS ) , Kolkata – Science city from 3rd to 6th
December 2008.
The science research topic is – Sources of Biopollutants
causing Air pollution.

LEVEL:
Dhruv B. Pancholi of IX B is going to participate in the
National level Chess Competition –under 15 at Mangalore
organized by all India Chess Federation from 25th November
to 5th December 2008.

Kesha S. Shah of VIII B was awarded for her excellent performance
in playing Tabla in Adukiyo-Dadukiyo Bal Garba Mahotsav
2008.
Hetvi J. Desai of VIII E secured 2nd position in the Garba
Competition organized by Bal Bhavan Society on Sharad Purnima.
Nayanika A. Pratap of IX B got consolation prize in the
Garba Competition organized by Bal Bhavan Society on Sharad
Purnima.
Shivam M. Raval of IX D and Viral B. Pathak of IX B participated
in the Karate Championship and secured Gold medal.
Ankush Bamboria of VIII A, an N.C.C cadet participated in
Shooting and secured gold medal for the same.
Kinjal J. Patel bagged the 1st Position and Keya U. Gandhi
– 2nd position Athletic Competition organized by Sports
Authority of Vadodara 100 meter running.
Parikh Kesha K. of 9th Std. ( Gujarati Medium) participated
in Under 17 girls – 100 m. running Competition held
by District Sports Officer and stood 3rd in the competition

ADVENTUROUS
TREKKING CAMP IN DIWALI VACATION:
Youth Hostels of
India had organized a trekking camp to Lonawala. 18 students
attended this adventurous camp. They were escorted by the
sports teacher Mr.Sajjan Desai. They learnt lessons in rock
climbing, star gazing, bird watching, river crossing etc
among the laps of Mother Nature.
Forest Trekking Camp: Ratan Mahal
105 students attended this adventurous camp for three days.
The students developed adventurous attitude and enjoyed
fully in the lap of Mother Nature appreciating the different
flora & fauna, sleeping under canopy of stars in tents.
The students enjoyed campfire and displayed their talents
of singing, dancing, mimicry, dramatization etc.Special
programme for star gazing was organized under the expert
guidance of Mr. Chhaganbhai from Jamnagar who gave the students
information regarding celestial bodies. Drawing and report
writing competition was also organized. The students were
presented with prizes in both competitions. |

spirit still achieved 81% in S.S.C. Board Examination. Bright
Management, Bright family, teachers and her friends have
wholeheartedly supported her in all her endeavours &
will continue to do so. In Raina’s words “ I
am sure that in this examination of life , I will succed
with flying colours. I don’t want to be an object
of pity, but only be judged by my performance”. |

VIII received a Gold medal in Long Jump in the CBSE CLUSTER
IX ATHLETIC MEET under -14 years at State Level held at
Surat. She will proceed to participate in ‘All India
Athletic Meet.
Swara Vekariya of class
IV was selected in the school level painting competition
on the theme save energy organized by power grid corporation
of India Ltd.
Neegam Gor of class VI
participated in the U – 13 Boys Gujarat state selection
chess Tournament and secured 3 points out of 6 points. He
is placed 21st position in the state.
Field Trip
Students of VII, VIII and
IX visited the Science Community Center in October’08
as a part of the Science Club Activity. The Students experienced
the joy of learning by exploring through experiments. It
was learning by doing on light, Magnetism, Air, Water, Electricity
and many more. |

Workshop
Students from VIII to XI
attended a seminar on ‘Road Safety’ wherein
Mr. Rahim Shaikh enlightened the students on safety rules
on road while driving and precautionary measures to avoid
accidents.
Hindi teachers Ms. Sadhana,
Ms. Priya and Ms. Anu attended of workshop on 4th October’08.
The highlights of the workshop was pattern of setting question
paper, correction work and teaching methodology.
Ms. Sushma Patel Headmistress
of KG Section attended a workshop on 10th and 11th September’08.
The topic was ‘Activities Conducted Through Integrated
Approach’. The workshop was conducted by Anandalaya
School, Anand.
Ms. Beena Nair &
Mr. Manish Engineer attended a workshop on 28th November’08
at Delhi Public School. The topic was effective teaching
of Social Science. The resource person was Ms. Sagrika Mukherjee.

SECTION |
| Students
of KG section enjoyed a camel ride on 2nd and 3rd October’08.
They were very happy to experience an unusual ride. It was
a memorable experience for them.
Students of Jr. KG
visited the zoo on 26th November’08. The students
were happy and thrilled to see the animals and listen to
the roaring of the lions and tigers in the Zoo.

As
a part of the project “Animal and Birds Presentation”
students of KG section made efforts to dramatize on various
birds and animals with action song and role play on 15th
October’08. |

section organized ‘Fun Day’ for both the students
and parents on 26th, 27th and 28th November’08. There
were interesting games and events for the tiny tots and
parents. Participation gifts and lots of prizes were given.
On the whole it was an enjoyable experience both for the
students and the parents. |

PRIMARY SECTION |

Std. I Bhaili Village : Students of Std.
I visited the Bhaili Village to be exposed to the rural
life and also to understand the organization of a village
- the Post office, the Bank, the Dairy, the School, the
Grampanchayat office etc. all the amenities / requirement
in a small area. |
Students
of Std. II went to the Haribhakti Post office. They saw
all the different sections like dispatch counter for letter
& parcels, counters for selling stamps, speed post/
registered post and saw the stamps, postcards, in land letters,
aerogramme, money orders from etc. They enjoyed the experience
of familiarizing themselves with a widely used means of
communication of our country. |
Std.IV
- Fire station - Vadiwadi Sardarbaugh : Students of Std.
IV went to the Vadiwadi Fire Station where they were shown
equipment used to put out fires. They were given a live
demonstration. They were also shown the inside of the 108
emergency van which is completely equipped to handle any
kind of medical emergency. |
