Yash B. Shah of Std VIII C participated in the Open Baroda Rapid (U-15) Chess tournament held at Balbhavan from 28.08.10 and 29.08.10. He secured 5.0 points out of 6.0 points. He got second position for this. He also participated in the Open Baroda Rapid (U-13) Chess Tournament held at Rosary School from 22.08.10. He secured 4 points out of 5 points. He got 4th position for this. |

Science Exhibition:
Budding Scientists of Bright made a mark at CBSE Regional Science Exhibition.Bright Day School, CBSE, Harni participated in Regional Level CBSE Exhibition held at Mayoor School, Ajmer on 3rd and 4th Sept. 2010.
a) The model based on Permaculture was one of the exhibit displayed by the students of X . The participating students were Aastha D. Patel and Juhi Upadhyay.
b) The model GIS-Farmer’s friend was selected for the National Round.The participants of the project were Harsh B. Champanerya & Ekta R. Panchal of class X.

Students of Std I & II went to the Seven Seas Mall. Students got the practical knowledge of how various items are categorized and kept in different compartments like food, clothes, Jewellery, stationary etc with proper labels to enable the buyers to select fast and save their time while shopping.
It was a very enriching experience for the students. They gained the knowledge of modern shopping by saving time and energy.

Students of Std III visited the Maharaja Fatehsingh Museum. The students learnt about various collection of paintings, sculpture, crafts work, Indian miniature etc. It also helped the students to strengthen their imagination.

Students of Std IV visited Baroda Dairy. The students witnessed the process of packing milk and enjoyed the flavored milk at the end.
The students of Std V went to the fire station. The children learnt about the functioning of the fire engine, ambulance, emergency services and various equipments used to extinguish fire. |

The students of Std VI went to the Community Science Centre. The objective of the centre is to promote dissemination of knowledge in science and technology to the children.
Through powerpoint presentation students saw how electricity is produced by Thermal power, Hydro power and Wind power.
All the students enjoyed the trip and even participated in experiments.
The students of Std VII visited “Shri Aurbindo Ghosh Ashram”. The students gained knowledge from the Museum of Shri Aurbindo and Meera Alphasa (Mataji) |

The students of Std VIII & IX visited the Coin Museum. It was a very good learning experience. The students saw various types of coins from wooden beads and shells(used in Primitive Age) to metallic coins(used in Present time)
Along with the coins, information was displayed about the causes of the rise of the different types of coins. National Sports Day - was celebrated whole-heartedly on 29th Aug.’10 .It is the Birthday of Major Gyan Chander – the hockey player. Students from Std. VI to XI enthusiastically participated in different events like Kho-Kho, Carrom, Badminton, Chess etc. The energetic events filled the atmosphere of Bright – a healthy Bright. |

| Teacher’s Day – On 06th Sept.’10 the Teacher’s Day was celebrated by remembering the great educator Dr. Radhakrishnan. Students were told about his exemplary work for our country. Teachers were gifted a Teacher’s Day Card and a rose by the Management. The Management had organized special DJ Party & dinner for the teachers. Teachers had a gala evening. |

club deals with 162 students ranging from class V to IX. The activities held were Anaglyph photos and Tsunami. Students prepared spectacles to view 3D photos. Slides show/ movies and a quiz was conducted related to Tsunami.

Eco-Friendly Ganesh Utsav – Sthapana of Lord Ganesh was done by using bamboo sticks on 11/09/10 with great fervour and enthusiasm. Ganesh Visarjan was held on 15/09/10. A procession was taken out where in the students gave the message to Save Earth, Save Tiger, Awareness of diseases etc. Students performed rat dance, lazim & displayed lathi feats. With great devotion Lord Ganapati was immersed. New Symbol of Rupee was also emphasized in the idol of Lord Ganesh |

Hindi Diwas - 14th September was celebrated as a ‘Hindi Diwas’ with great enthusiasm in Bright Day School, CBSE Unit Harni. Various activities like class projects, slogan writing, extempore speech as per age group were organized. Main attraction was ‘Nukkad Natika’ on current issues like unemployment, influation corruption … etc.
Children were explained about importance of Hindi as our National Language. |

GAURI VRAT:Monsoon marks the beginning of festivities. Gauri Vrat was one such festival. Little girls, observed fast for 5 consecutive days. During these five days girls worshipped Goddess Gauri in the form of “Gouriyo” which grows from sowing seven different seeds |

MONSOON DAY:Water is one of the most important elements in life. Rain is the important source of water. With the onset of Monsoon, Nature spreads green carpet, all around her. This joyous moment was celebrated by our children of KG Section. They danced with their colorful umbrellas and wore multicoloured raincoats. Enthusiastic parents sent different fruits & vegetables of this season which helped the children to gain first hand experience. |
| PUPPET SHOW |
Puppet show used to be primitive method of entertainment for the children in India. With the invasion of T.V and video games puppet shows faded away. To revive this culture Bright School invited a professional to conduct a lively and interesting show.
Children of KG Section were thrilled to see puppets dancing on typical music. |
| INCREDIBLE INDIA |
Every Indian heart is filled with patriotism for its Motherland. Our tiny tots contributed towards their Motherland in their own small way. Jr.KG children wore saffron coloured dress and talked on things related to saffron colour. Young hearts of Sr.KG contributed their share by doing collage activity throughout the week in our National Symbols. They also sang patriotic songs and spoke few sentences on our Nation. They came dressed in tricolour. |
