Achievements:
Ashutosh Bhatt, Ayaz Lakhani, Atishay Jain, Parth Raval of Std. X participated in Open Baroda Quiz Contest organized by EICA Club on 25th Sept‘11. Ayaz Lakhani and Ashutosh Bhatt bagged the 3rd Prize.

Our students won the first prize in Nukkad Natika Competition. The topic was ‘ÕÈôÑâÌ ÍãÓÍýxÒ Ñëï ÑâïËäÕâÊ »â áîã¿tÒ’ which was held on 2nd October 2011 at Delhi Public School Kalali, Baroda. The play was scripted and directed by the Music Teacher Mr. Rajeev Dashputre.

- Kartavya Ramanani and Vaishali Rathod of Std. XI secured 2nd position at Regional level in the CBSE National Debate Competition held at Ajmer. They participated at National level at Delhi. Vaishali Rathod bagged the Best Rebutting member Trophy & Cash prize.

| FIELD TRIPS & PICNIC |
- The students of Std. X went to the Science Community Centre. The students learned about different principles of Physics through various working models. They also learnt about different Anatomical and Morphological features of different living organism.
- The students of Std. III & II enjoyed picnic to Ajwa Fun World on 13.12.11 & 14.12.11 respectively. The students enjoyed the various rides with their teachers.

| CELEBRATION: |
- Joy of Giving - Our students participated in ‘Joy of Giving School Contest’, where they staged Nukkad Natak at different schools & society emphasizing on the diminishing moral and cultural values, importance of Vedas etc.
- Hindi Diwas - Bright Day School CBSE Unit-Harni celebrated Hindi Diwas on 14th Sep.’11. Students of Std. VI and VII staged a drama on epics ‘The Ramayana’ and ‘The Mahabharata’ Students of Std. V participated in Poem Recitation in Hindi. Students of Std. VIII, IX & XI voiced their views on Lokpal bill and corruption in the ‘Prashan Munch’. Students of Std. X participated in poem / story review of Rabindra Nath Tagore’s works.

Navratri Mahotsav - Bright Day School, CBSE Unit Harni celebrated Navratri Mahotsav on 01.09.11. Students from Std. I to XII participated in Garba Competition with great devotion in traditional dresses. The presence of chairman Sir Shri Jayendrabhai Shah, Managing trustee Sir Simit Shah, Madam Sonali Shah, various unit heads and parents added glitters. Managing Trustee Sir Simit Shah and Sonali Madam felicitated the prize winners. The students enjoyed a light octave combination of music, dance and gorgeous outfits (Chania – Choli) |

| TEACHERS ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMMES |

The teachers of Bright Day School, CBSE, Harni Unit attended a one day talk cum interaction session on ‘Who is a Good Teacher?’ on 30.09.2011. The resource person for the programme was Mr. Abhilash Mehta. He stressed on the multiple roles the modern teacher has to play and the skills she needs to equip herself with in order to play the roles effectively.

- Mr. Bhavik Parekh attended workshop Managerial Techniques and Motivational Skills organized by Ratna Sagar P. Ltd. on 26.11.2011. The resource person threw light on the techniques & skills that are helpful in day to day administation.

- Ms. Kumkum Biswas attended a workshop cum interactive session for English & Science organized by Pearson Longman at Ahmedabad on 26.11.2011.

- Ms. Nimisha Parikh & Mr. Jatin Patel attended a Mathematics workshop on – ‘Creating conceptual ability in Mathematics’ – organized by ‘Sahodaya Group’ held at ‘New Era Secondary School’ Baroda at 29.11.2011. It emphasized to avoid procedural errors in Mathematics.

Kurien. The workshop focused on building science concepts through practical experiments.

- It is also known as World Peace Day. Our children presented their views on the Peace Day.
Green Day : 26.9.11 Jr. KG.
- Children celebrated ‘Green Day’ by wearing green coloured costumes and recognizing the green coloured objects around them. They all looked very pretty. |

| Food : 28.9.11 Sr. KG.
Food promotes growth of our body, improves body function and provides protection from diseases. In this age of fast food and junk food, it is necessary for us to inculcate in children healthy eating habits for a better life. The tiny tots of Sr. KG. took the responsibility of spreading this message to the society at large through the Project on ‘Food’. |

Fruits and vegetables are the basic components of a healthy diet. They should be part of every meal and our first choice for a snack. Our tiny tots of Jr.KG highlighted the importance of fruits & vegetables in our life through this project. |

| CELEBRATIONS : |
Navratri : 30.9.11 - Navratri is the festival of nine nights in Gujarat. People perform Garba for nine consecutive nights. This festival was celebrated by the children of all wearing colourful traditional dresses. |

| Diwali : 20.10.11
- Diwali, the festival of lights, was celebrated by the children with great zeal and fervour. They made rangoli with bright colours all over the school campus. They even shared their brunch which they had brought for ‘Dibba Party’.

Childrens’ Day : 14.11.11
- Childrens’ Day is celebrated in the fond memory of the first Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. To celebrate this day in school, a Fun Fair was organized, where in different stalls of variety of games, eatables like pani-puri, popcorn, peanuts, chana chor garam… were set up. Jumping jack and dancing floor were main attractions for the children. Mehandi was applied to the girls and tattoo was applied to the boys.
Each child prepared a jewellery box/bus/pen stand etc. from the waste material. |

| FIELD TRIPS |
Zoo : 15.11.11 to 21.11.11 (Jr.KG.) - As a part of first hand experience the children were taken to the Sayajibaug Zoo. They saw the various wild animals and were able to recognize them better by the end of the trip. This trip proved to be very educating. |

Green House : 7.12.11 to 9.12.11(Sr.KG)
- Children were taken to the ‘Green House”. They learnt how the plants are grown and they also saw various parts of the plants. |

- Diwali is the festival of lights. To spread message of light, in everybody’s children prepared chandeliers as a symbol of Diwali greetings. |
