VASNA GSEB UNIT - September 2011 to November 2011
 
Navratri Celebration : Students and teachers enjoyed Navratri in the school campus, on the 30th September 2011, attired in vibrant and colourful traditional costumes. Prizes were given to students as well as the teachers for the best performance and best costumes.
 

Diwali Celebration : The festival of lights jointly celebrated by GSEB & CBSE teachers and students on 18th November 2011 where the story of Ramayan was enacted. Take home activities were planned for all classes wherein Playgroup children decorated a candle with glitter, Jr. KG., Sr. KG children decorated diyas and made a Diwali card out of it for their parents.

 

Children’s Day Celebration : Our students celebrated Children’s Day on the 14th November 2011. Playgroup children enjoyed Bubble jumping and Bullock cart ride. Jr. KG & Sr. KG enjoyed a Magic show and Puppet show. Children also had creative activities conducted in the class and they made take-home masks, with a message on them.

Different classes conducted beautiful activities such as clay-modeling, origami, pen-stand and paper-bag making etc. There was also a magic show organized for our students of playgroup to Std III. The school had its very own Radio jockeys who conducted a programme on the PAS, playing melodious songs interspersed with health tips and jokes.

Story Presentation : Stories are of great interest for kindergarteners and if presented with drama and songs it enhances their imagination a lot. Thus, at GSEB – Vasna unit, we dramatize a story in front of the children of the KG Section once a week wherein teachers as well as students participate. After the story is over different themes which are going according to the syllabus are presented before children in different variety. Like for the theme of food, fruits, vegetables, colours & shape a small fashion show was done which helped the children to gain in-depth information about the respective topic.

For Animals & Birds a PowerPoint presentation was done with small videos which children thoroughly enjoyed.
Freedom from Diabetes : To commemorate ‘World Diabetes Day’ whichwas on 14th November, 2011, students of Std VIII and IX participated in a rally ‘Freedom from Diabetes’. The objective of the rally was to create awareness on the symptoms and preventive measures for Diabetes.

The Annual Inter School Quiz Contest, jointly organised by the Association of British Scholars and Bright Day School, wherein twenty-two schools had participated, was held on 26th November 2011, in Bright Day School, Vasna. The topic this year was ‘India and UK – influence on Art, Culture, Language and Sports’.
The Function was presided over by the Chief Guest, Dr. Bharat Chattoo, a Professor at the Dept. of Microbiology and Biotechnology at M.S.University.

The Rolling Trophy was bagged by the team from Bright Day School, CBSE – Vasna. The first Runner-Up was New Era Senior Secondary School.
Abishek Sharma and Nidhi More participated in Judo Competition held by Gujarat Sports Authority from 22.9.11 to 26.9.11 at the State level. They both bagged the gold medal and further participated at the National level, organized by “Games Federation of India” from 14th November to 18th November in Ujjain. Niddhi More bagged the bronze medal in this competition.

Our school students participated in ‘Khel Mahakumbh’ organized as part of ‘Swarnim Gujarat’. They gave an outstanding performance in Judo Competition. Eight students bagged gold medals, four students bagged silver medals and four students bagged bronze medals.

Parak Choksi, Upasana Deshmukh, Harsh Dalwadi, Dalvik Patel, Riken Desai, Jay Gandhi, Abhishek Sharma and Dipen Panchal will represent the school at State level in Khel Mahakumbh which will be held in Mehsana.
On 28th August 2011 a dance competition at State level was organized by Baroda Rocks Dance Academy at Ambe School (Manjalpur). Our team of twelve students of Std IX & X stood 3rd.

Pranjali Maganahalli stood 2nd at the State Level in the Geeta Chanting Competition organized by the Chinmaya Mission.
