The EGN education award is a platform to recognize the contribution of educators, as they are the nation builders whose character, spirit and energy shapes the destiny of nations. The overarching theme for EGN Awards was “Focus on Education Growth - Believe, Achieve, Succeed”.
Khel Mahakumbh
Daksh Tilwani of Std. VIII secured the 1st position - Gold Medal in Lawn Tennis team event Khel mahakumbh. He also bagged the Best Player award. He secured the 2nd position in singles event at State Level Khel mahakumbh. He participated in the Tennis Championship Series (doubles) at All India Level under 14 category and received a trophy and certificate for the same. He also won Runner up trophy in Tennis Premiere League, U-14 category organized by TPL Ajay. He also won Gold Medal in team event and Silver Medal in Single event in Khel Mahakumbh 2.0 and won cash prize of Rs. 17,000/- in Lawn Tennis U-14 boys from Gujarat Government. He won U-14 Boys doubles in Championship series and was the Runner-up in super series boys doubles U-14 in All India Tennis Association Tournament.
Naisa Desai of Std. IX made us proud by securing the 1st position in 200 m bifin, the 2nd position in100 m bifin and the 3rd position in 50 m bifin in the 2nd Gujarat State Finswimming Championship – 2024 held at Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad on 8/05/2024. She also won 3 Bronze Medal in Swimming in Khel Mahakumbh 2.0.
Risheet Pandya of Std. V received certificate and medal for participating in the Open Gujarat Inter School Chess Championship. He scored the 7th position. He also received certificate & trophy for Chess competition organised by the Surat District Chess Association. He has placed 4th in the merit list.
Adwait Pathak of Std. VIII & Pratham Shah of Std. X bagged Trophy & Medal for winners in Badminton Doubles. Vrutant Shah of Std. X bagged Trophy & Medal for winner & Svarna Shukla of Std. X bagged 2nd prize for winner in Chess organised by Ira International School. Adwait Pathak participated in shutter’s cup Badminton Tournament organized by Baroda Sports Arena and won runner up trophy in Boy’s doubles under 15 category.
Jenish Modi of Std. VII has published 2 books ‘The Glitcher’s Paradise’ and ‘The Mighty Dreams’ organized by Bric Books and won the published author certificate. He also participated in communication and public speaking workshop organized by Bal Bhavan Society. He received a certificate as Basic Drone Maker for his exceptional skills and outcome in drone development and flying drone workshop organized by IBA. The Robotized World at Bal Bhavan Society, Vadodara. He also received certificate of participation in the Himalayan camp at Shimla. He also published a book ‘Sneaker Head’ won the publisher Author Certificate organised by Bric Books.

World Health Day
World Health Day is celebrated every year on 7th April. The theme for World Health Day 2024 is 'My health, my right’. This year’s theme is chosen to champion the right of everyone, everywhere to have access to quality health services, education, and information, as well as safe drinking water, clean air, good nutrition, quality housing, decent working and environmental conditions and freedom from discrimination.
World Heritage Day
World Heritage Day is celebrated on 18th April every year. It is observed throughout the world with a view to create awareness about preserving and promoting cultural and natural heritage.
Heritage Day was celebrated with great grandeur in our school. Brightians were briefed about its importance during morning assembly. Brightians sung a traditional song and gave a traditional dance performance. Class teachers explained the importance of Heritage and shared interesting facts about Indian Heritage in the class, thereby sensitizing the students about the importance of preserving monuments. A Heritage Quiz, which included a diverse range of questions on World and Indian heritage, was conducted for Brightians. Brightians enjoyed the quiz thoroughly.
Keeping in tune with the aims and objectives of NEP 2020, Bright School believes in providing ample opportunities to Brightians to integrate art in education and encourages experiential learning enabling them to learn concepts through practical applications. Thus, to enable the aforementioned 21st century skills, Brightians were given the opportunity to combine their knowledge and skill to create exquisite cloth paintings using Indian Folk Art like Warli, Madhubani, Palm Printing, Lippan Art, Block Print, Mandala Art, Tie and Dye etc. They also coffee painted various Indian Heritage monuments like Laxmi Vilas Palace, Rani Ki Vav, Qutub Minar, Shivaji Maharaj Fort etc. There was a grand display of students' work.
SVVP - Campaigning for Elections
Several awareness programmes were held in school to campaign for the Lok Sabha Elections. Teachers undertook the Voters' Pledge thereby promising to exercise their right to vote. As part of the Signature Campaign, Brightians of senior-secondary section sensitized parents on exercising their right to vote and took their signatures. Parents demonstrated their commitment towards the nation by participating actively. Teachers demonstrated their solidarity towards the nation by heartily participating in Bike Rally and Votathon Walk. During the Bike Rally they took a city tour encouraging people to cast votes. During the Votathon Walk they walked from Hill Memorial School to Kamati Garden giving the same message. During the morning assemblies Brightians shared many interesting facts about Lok Sabha Elections 2024. The Principal, Ms Neeta Sharma, appealed to the Brightians to encourage their family members and neighbors to exercise their right to vote. Class teachers reinforced the same in classrooms. Brightians demonstrated solidarity, integrity and commitment towards the nation by making posters and writing slogans on the occasion.
Earth Day
Earth Day is an annual event held on April 22 every year, to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It was first observed in 1970 and has since grown into a global movement. Earth Day has played a crucial role in raising awareness about environmental issues, inspiring policy changes and promoting sustainable practices. Each year, Earth Day focuses on a specific theme. For 2024, the official theme is ‘Planet v/s Plastic’. It highlights the urgent need to address plastic pollution and its impact on our environment.
Brightians observed World Earth Day by participating in various activities that raised their understanding about how individual and collective actions can contribute to a healthier and a more sustainable planet. Brightians of Std. I to V played puzzles and made posters which reinforced their understanding about employing best practices to safeguard our Earth from destruction. Brightians of Std. VI to IX made paper bags and hand bags to promote the idea ‘Say NO to Plastic’, which was very much in tune with the theme of Earth Day 2024. The teachers created awareness about environmental issues and advocated lifestyle changes such as reducing carbon footprint, conserving water and energy, planting trees, stopping the use of plastics and practicing the 4Rs – refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle. Students’ work was exhibited on display boards. A booklet demonstrating precautions to be followed to save mother Earth was also displayed.
Gujarat Day
The state of Gujarat was formed on 1st May 1960. The former state of Bombay was segregated on the basis of language and two states namely, Maharashtra and Gujarat were formed. Ever since, 1st May is celebrated as Gujarat Day.
Gujarat Day was celebrated with pride and reverence. During the morning assembly Brightians sung 'જય જય ગરવી ગુજરાત...'. The garba songs ‘ઓ રંગ રસિયા કયા રમી આવ્યા...’ and 'અષાઢ ઉચ્ચારમ્, મેઘ મલ્હારમ્...' were sung by the music teacher, Mr Rajiv Dashputre. Brightians performed garba on the songs. The songs were well orchestrated and Brightians clapped and cheered to the beats of the music. Class teachers shared information related to Gujarat Day with the students in class. On the map of Gujarat, Brightians penned down 'રંગીલું ગુજરાત', 'સ્વચ્છ ગુજરાત', 'ગતિશીલ ગુજરાત', 'ખંતીલું ગુજરાત' etc. Our Chairman - Dr Simit Shah, Directress - Miss Swara Shah, the Principal - Ms. Neeta Sharma, heads and teachers signed their names in Gujarati. Interesting facts related to Gujarat were displayed and Brightians got to learn many new things about Gujarat. Brightians also made posters with the message 'જય જય ગરવી ગુજરાત', 'મને ગર્વ છે હું ગુજરાતી છું' etc. written on them.
Students Council Elections
The Students Council Elections are a cherished annual tradition at Bright Day School, Near Gada Circle, Harni. Having a Students Council is a great source of pride for any educational institution. These elections help students learn about the entire election process, including campaigning and selecting the best candidates.
The highly awaited Students Council Elections for the academic year 2024-2025 were held on 28th June, 2024, in our school. The candidature was open for various positions like President, Vice President, Head Boy, Head Girl, House Captains, Vice House Captains etc. Several aspiring and dynamic Brightians came forward for nominations. The nominees were then screened and selected by a panel. For several days, the candidates campaigned for their respective positions with unshakable confidence, and their enthusiasm was matched by the voters. The school principal, Ms Neeta Sharma mentored the Brightians to cast their votes fairly and suitably. Strict measures were implemented to ensure fair elections in an orderly manner. Brightians of Std. VI to XII got an opportunity to cast votes.
Founder's Day
Founder’s Day on 3rd July every year, in memory of Sir Shri Jayendrabhai Shah, the remarkable personality who laid the foundation of the cherished institution.
During the morning assembly, students, heads and teachers alike, reflected on the deep impact Sir had on their lives and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to have known him and to have been guided by his knowledge, wisdom and vision. The Principal Ms Neeta Sharma shared his journey, his vision and praised his unmatchable devotion and dedication to work. Students danced on 'Hame likhna hein padhna hein aagehi badhna hein...' choreographed by our Performing Arts teacher Ms Vaishali Bane, emphasizing Sir's Vision of our school. Brightians crooned to the song 'Ik din beet jayenga maati ke mol...' mentored by our Performing Arts teacher Mr Rajiv Dashputre. The students paid heartfelt tribute to Sir by sketching and adorning his portrait with colourful handmade flowers. The teachers shared the journey of this larger-than-life figure who started his career by schooling 33 students and went on to become the Founder of one of the most prestigious educational institutions in town. A quiz was also conducted reminiscing Sir’s never-ending pursuit of imparting knowledge and quality education to students.
All the educators carry the torch of Sir’s legacy under the guidance of Chairman Dr Simit Shah and Directress Ma'am Swara Shah, with utmost reverence and devotion. As we celebrate the extraordinary life he lived, we pledge to carry his legacy forward with pride, ensuring that his vision and dreams live on, forever etched in the fabric of the institution he so passionately built. Dear Sir Shri Jayendrabhai Shah: 'Your light may have faded from our physical world, but your influence and impact will forever shine bright within our hearts. Your dedication and passion transformed our school into what it is today. Sir, you left an indelible mark on the educational landscape, and we owe much of our success to your tireless efforts. Thank you, Sir, for lighting our path. Your legacy lives on in every classroom, every student, and every achievement.' Dear Brightians, let us carry forward Sir’s torch of knowledge, compassion, and resilience. May his spirit guide us as we strive for excellence in education.
Investiture Ceremony
‘If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.’ The Investiture Ceremony was held at Bright Day School, CBSE Unit, Near Gada Circle on 11th July 2024. The event commenced with a prayer invoking God’s blessings. Dr Simit Shah, the Chairman, Ms Swara Shah, the Directress and Ms Neeta Sharma, the Principal felicitated the elected and selected Student Council Members by pinning the badges and draping the sashes. The Class Representatives also received badges during the ceremony. This was followed by the oath-taking ceremony, wherein the Student Council Members pledged to uphold the values and principles of the school. They promised to serve with humility, listen with compassion and lead with purpose. The Directress Ms Swara Shah, congratulated and blessed the Student Council Members. The Vice President, General Secretary, Head Boy, and Head Girl expressed their gratitude to the Management for entrusting them with leadership roles. They also thanked the fellow Brightians for their unwavering trust and support. The walk past of the Student Council Members across the length and breadth of the school bearing the school flag and with their heads held high was a visual treat for everyone. Brightians clapped and cheered the Student Council Members. The ceremony culminated with Brightians crooning to the School Song and the National Anthem.
An Orientation Session was organized for the parents of Std. I students on 27.04.2024. The Principal, Ms Neeta Sharma, gave a detailed orientation about various aspects of school education like code of conduct, uniform and appearance, curriculum, evaluation, scholastic - co-scholastic areas etc. At the end of the session she also addressed the parents' queries. Parents expressed gratitude for the initiative taken by the management.
An Orientation Session was organized for the students of Std. IX on 13.04.2024 in the J.R. Shah auditorium. The Principal Mrs Neeta Sharma oriented Brightians about CBSE’s Structure of Assessment for the year 2024-2025, at length. She explained the students about the Periodic tests, Multiple Assessment, Portfolio and Subject Enrichment Activities. Teachers of core subjects further briefed the students about the questions expected in the exams and their weightage. All subject teachers gave sufficient examples of competency based questions and questions based on assertion and reasoning to enhance students’ understanding. The principal also addressed the queries of the students.
A training on NCF 2023 was organized for all the educators on 03.05.2024 to orient them on various aspects associated with it. Ms Ela Kapadia was the resource person. She is a passionate educationist, trainer and curriculum planner. All the teachers attended the session. The training stressed on the continuous professional development of teachers, learning standards, inculcating cross-cutting themes.
A training session was organized for all the educators on the topic 'Artificial Intelligence and its Features' on 08.06.2024. The resource person for the workshop was Ms Nikita Batra, an experienced education strategist and curriculum designer and an expert in the field of artificial intelligence. The agenda of the workshop was to educate teachers to integrate AI in teaching-learning process. She gave demonstration of innumerable AI tools which assist teachers in summarizing texts, lesson planning, making rubrics, quizzes, presentations and assessments like Web ChatGPT, sider.ai, Brisk Teaching etc. She also educated the teachers about using Google docs to create informative documents and creating and viewing YouTube channels. The session was educative and informative with many take-aways for the teachers. At the end of the session the teachers felt confident and enthusiastic about incorporating AI as a tool in their teaching.
Gyan Sarovar Sahodaya
Gyan Sarovar Sahodaya workshops for professional enrichment were held on 22.07. 2024 (Saturday) for teachers of Std. I to X and on 13.07.2024 (Saturday) for teachers of Std. XI and XII. The details of the same are as follows :
The workshop for Std. I & II was conducted by Ms. Shalini More, Ms. Sakina Giniwala & Ms. Zenat Buddhvani (Psychologist & Special Educators). It was about understanding the challenges faced by students in the class by Zenat Buddvani, NCF – 2022 for English, Maths & Env. They suggested many activities and websites. Ms. Archana Sharma, Ms. Jyoti Waghmode, Ms. Vipasha Pandey, Ms. Komal Methwani, Ms. Anuragi Joshi, Ms. Khushbu Sarvaiya, Ms. Sangita Verma, Ms. Mahima Bhatt, Ms. Kirti Bhatt, Ms. Pranali Patel, Ms. Mallika Mehta, Ms. Trupti Pal, Ms. Sonali Patwardhan, Ms. Prashansa Gonsalves, Ms. Sandhya Shah, Ms. Shruti Varshney and Ms. Manisha Gupta attended the workshop.
The workshop for Std. III to V (English) was conducted by Mrs. Kiran Tiwari. It was about Teaching the Art of Creative Writing – open ended story, letter writing, paragraph writing, picture description. Ms. Preet Avtani, Ms. Neha Kapade, Ms. Sudha Vaidya, Ms. Jaya Bharti, Ms. Ranjana Chauhan, Ms. Neelima Jayaswal, Ms. Arti Shah attended the workshop.
The workshop for Std. III to V (EVS) was conducted by Ms. Shraddha Satwe. A Gujarati workshop for teachers of Standards VI to X was conducted by Ms. Induben Joshi. The workshop began with two engaging games designed to enhance vocabulary skills. The discussion centered around examination strategies, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) and National Curriculum Framework (NCF). The conversation was particularly engaging when updating writer guidelines and grammar rules were addressed. Additionally, the session explored effective methods to remember challenging spellings in Gujarati, which was discussed in detail. Every year, Gyan Sarovar Sahodaya organizes workshops for teachers to enhance their teaching methods, update their knowledge and share best teaching practices. Std. IX and X teachers attended the workshops on 22nd June 2024 at various city schools. All the resource persons conducted the workshops in a very interesting and comprehensive manner. The workshops were infused with handouts, practical tips and hands-on activities which were relevant and valuable and ensured hundred- percent participation of students. At the end of the workshops, teachers felt more confident in their ability to engage students in a meaningful and productive manner.
